PIDDINGTON, Pam – in restful peace in the evening of 13 June in Wellington, surrounded by her family and the love of her many friends.
Beloved wife of Kenneth, adored mother of Graham, Rosalie and Karl, loving friend to Rosalie’s partner Sarah and Karl’s wife Karoline, as well as to Laurel Belworthy, and a much-loved Gransie for Ruby, Marsha, Callum and Jasper, her treasured mokos. Sister and sister-in law of Peter and Babs Sleggs (Toronto) and Peggy (nee Sleggs) and Tim Wortman (Sydney), with happy memories of the 2005 family reunion, now so special. Fondly remembered aunt for Peter John and Brian in Toronto and for Fran in Poole (UK) who summed up her visit to Thorndon last month with Peggy; “Family is a precious thing…”
A tribute book has been opened on this site for Pam so that our memories of this inspirational person can be shared around the world.
Pam, in beauty of mind and spirit you were larger than life, and made life larger for all of us – go now as you always wished, across the Harbour to where;
“My quiet morning hill Stands like an altar drawn…”
A Celebration of Pam’s life will be held on Monday 19 June at 10am in Old St Paul’s Church, Mulgrave Street, Thorndon, to be followed by a private cremation.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mary Potter Hospice where Pam was given such heartwarming care in her final weeks. The Piddington family expresses most sincere thanks to all members of that dedicated team, and to their professional colleagues from the Thorndon Medical Centre and the Community Nursing Service – all helped to make the final stages of her journey progress smoothly, in peace and love.
