KAWANA, Martin David (Marty ) - Marty passed away peacefully at Wellington Hospital on Friday 13th December 2013, surrounded by whanau and friends.

Marty will be a huge loss to his partner and best friend of 8 years Jeanette and Brigid mother of their two loving sons Marc and Daniel, daughter-in-law Loana and mokopuna Ohorere. Loving son of the late Billigan & Meretiana Kawana. Will be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters Olive, Carol, Missy (deceased), Willie, Russell, Girlie, Raymond, Peter, Manu, Mike, Tiana and Tipene. A sad loss to all the brother and sister in-laws, nephews and nieces, friends and extended whanau, work colleagues and the myriads of people whose heart Marty touched. The whanau would like to acknowledge the respect shown and the support and care received from the staff of ICU in Palmerston North and Wellington and to the staff of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Services. We will always be truly grateful.
Marty will be lying in state at Te Ore Ore Marae, Bideford Road, Masterton with the service to be held on Tuesday, 17 December 2013 at 11am followed by burial at Te Ahitainga Urupa. Tributes can be left on the tribute page below.
