RAIZIS, George - Called home on his 85th birthday, 8 October 2014, the youngest and the last to join his late brothers and sisters: Spyridon (Spiro), Zafiria (Foula), Constantina (Dina), and Christos, his parents, Matthew and Calliope and late wife Virginia (Gigi). Loved father of Chris and Mary-Virginia (Nelson), uncle of Lizzie, Rita (Canberra) and Odette Athena (Nina Reizi, London), great-uncle of Nadia, Jason and Daniel, brother-in-law of Catherine and Dr John (Naki) Carabas of Athens, cousin of Professor Emeritus Marios-Byron Raizis of Athens, and friend of Giovanni and Joanna Costello.

Uncle George is remembered for 40 years of steady service as a cable car, tram and bus driver for the Wellington City Council.

Donations to the Greek Orthodox Church welcome in lieu of flowers.

A funeral service for George will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, "O Evangelismos tis Theotokou" (Annunciation of the Birth giver of God), 3 Hania Street, Mt Victoria on Friday 17 October 2014 at 12:30pm.
