METE-SMITH, Te Putu Marere.
We the children of Te Putu Marere Mete-Smith wish to announce that on the morning of 26th December 2017 our mother passed away peacefully in her sleep and in her own bed.
It was appropriate that on Christmas Day we all had the pleasure of talking to her by phone or via facetime, from all parts of this world, not knowing that it would in fact be the last time.
She is survived by 10 children, 41 grandchildren, 90 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
She will lie at her home in Moiki before being taken on to Hauariki Marae Martinborough at 10am Friday 29th December 2017, her service will be held at the Featherston Latter Day Saints Chapel, Fitzherbert Street, Featherston at 11am on Saturday 30th December 2017, after which she will be laid to rest with our Dad and the rest of her whanau at Moiki urupa.
