BISHOP, Phillip John (Phil) Professor

On January 23, 2021, this extraordinary man passed away surrounded by his loving family at Otago Community Hospice, after a short illness; aged 63 years.

Dearly loved husband and soulmate of Debbie, much loved Dad of Adam and Luke, and Dog Dad of Frog Dog Holly, adored brother and brother-in-law of Julia and Neil (Scotland) and nephew Duncan, admired brother-in-law of Phil (South Africa), loved cousin of Catherine, Victoria, Laurence and wife Lizzie, and their children Lucien, Emily and Archie and admiring Aunt Carol (UK) and loving cousin Nicky (UK).

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Otago Community Hospice and Dunedin Hospital.

Loved and cherished by all, a very special man who showed and gave knowledge, inspiration and humour to his wider family, colleagues and friends.

A celebration of Phil’s life will be held at Hope and Sons Chapel, 523 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin at 12.30pm on Monday, February 1, followed by private cremation.

In lieu of flowers the family invites you to bring a NZ Native Tussock or Shrub which will be planted together as a memorial grove for Phil or donations to NZFrogs would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
