Denise Grunert -- died 5 March 2021 at Te Omanga Hospice. Denise is the deeply loved and cherished wife of Volker; loving parent of Bella her cat; absolutely treasured and adored aunty and loved and loving friend of Desi and Bob (Lorand/Hill), Dean Rutter and his partner, Linda (Melbourne) and Jonathan and Joyce (Spence/Li) and adoring Great Great Aunty Neesy of little Julio.  
Denise is a much loved sister-in-law and friend of her Grunert family in Germany and her Rutter family in New Zealand.  She is lovingly remembered by her niece Sigrun, and Bill Grice, and her nephew, Tony, and Sue Rutter.  Denise is also loved and remembered by her many friends in the UK, Australia, the US and in New Zealand, including Bev, Vicki, Sue, Laraine, Karen, Celia, Sandra, David, Krystal, Luke and Max, and “the chicks from the AA”.
Denise asked that everyone be told that she had had an amazing life and that there was not one thing she would have changed about it.  As those of us who knew and loved her know, she packed an amazing number of experiences into her 74 years (she would have been 75 on 10 March).
Volker and the family would like to sincerely thank the wonderful team at Te Omanga Hospice for the excellent care Denise received during her short stay with them.  Volker and Denise’s family would respectfully appreciate donations to Te Omanga Hospice in Denise’s memory, in place of flowers.

Denise’s Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at 11am on Saturday 13th March at Harbour City Funeral Home, 665 High Street, Lower Hutt.  A private cremation will follow.
