ZAWADKA, Salomea Halina Zofia (Sala)

Died peacefully on the 13th June 2021. Loved wife of the late Jerzy Zawadka, mother of Leszek Zawadka and Janina Goff. Loving mother in law to Sue Zawadka, John Houghton and the late Warren Goff. Cherished Babcia (grandmother) to Leanne, Rob ,Raymond, Dana, Natalia, Casey, Melissa, Lewis, Adam and Alexia. Adored Great Babcia to Tayla, Tannar, Scarlett, Portia, Tyson, Archer, Quinn, Evie, Caleb and Jasmyn.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wellington Free Ambulance or The New Zealand Heart Foundation would be appreciated for whom Salomea had a special affection for.

Mum. You, have now joined your beloved parents Jan and Zofia Szymczycha, siblings, Jan, Aniela, Stanislaw, Kazik and Rudolf. You immigrated to New Zealand as a 14 year old in 1944 as one of the 733 Polish children. You lived life with character and to the full in your adopted country but never forgetting your Polish heritage.

Niech Spoczywa w pokoju. Rest in Peace.

A Requiem Mass to celebrate Sala’s life will be held at Saint Patrick’s Church, Childers Terrace, Kilbirnie on Monday 21st June at 11am, thereafter private cremation.
