BURGESS RONALD (RON) -Born in West Hartlepool, UK, on 9 March 1928. Died at Rita Angus Retirement Village, Wellington, on 19 February 2022.

Loved and respected husband of Jennifer (Jenny, Jen). Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Glenn & Mandy (UK), Dave & Mary (Wellington). Cherished Grandfather of Nigel (Christchurch), Aubrey (UK) and Corey (Wellington) and beloved great-grandfather of Ollie & Lucas (Christchurch) and Rocky (Wellington).

Eldest of seven siblings who, along with their families, he loved with a passion.

Former leader with the Council of Trade Unions, Council of State Unions and the NZ Post Office Union and a member of the New Zealand Order of Merit.

At the family’s request Ron’s funeral is open to vaccinated people only and vaccine passes must be shown upon arrival. Numbers able to attend are limited to 100 and you will need to ‘Register to Attend’ this funeral via the blue Register button at the bottom of this notice.

Ron’s funeral service will be held at the Cockburn Street Chapel, cnr Cockburn St & Onepu Rd, Kilbirnie on Friday 25th February at 2pm, thereafter private cremation.
