Colin Radford passed away peacefully in Ward 65 at Auckland Hospital in the early hours of 9 August after a short illness. The Radford family and the Sharmi Devi family would like to thank the amazing nurses and medical team who cared for him over this time.

Colin was born in Waitara and grew up on his parents farm beside the Mokau River. He was originally a King Country farmer, farming firstly in Pio Pio (Troopers Road) and then in Matiere (Otangawai valley). In the mid-70’s, he moved to Auckland where he traded and renovated colonial furniture in Grey Lynn and Point Chevalier. He was a charming and witty man who loved a good yarn.

Colin is survived by his five children: Jeffrey Radford, Wendy McGuinness, Alan Radford, Neal Radford and Roseanne Tucker; his 12 grandchildren: Robert McGuinness, Josephine McGuinness, Svetlana Radford, Annie McGuinness, Alex Radford, Lachlan McGuinness, Arne Larsen, Tor Larsen, James Tucker, Elizabeth Tucker, Hunter Radford, Maddox Radford and his great grandchild: Nathaniel Radford-Stowers.

A celebration of his life will take place at the Garden Chapel at Morrisons Funeral Home, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson, this Thursday (11 August 2022) at 2.00pm. Family and friends are most welcome.

Please read tributes and share your messages and memories in the tribute book on this page.

Donations to the Mokau Museum & Art Gallery: Tainui Historical Society (Inc)., PO Box 11, Mokau, 4350 would be appreciated by the family.
