Collins, Matthew Bruce (Blocker)

It’s with great sadness we need to announce that Matt passed away on Friday 10th February 2023 after a short illness in Wellington Hospital, aged 52 years.

If you knew his humour he would want you to think he died in excruciating pain on the toilet, however it was actually peacefully surrounded by his family, but don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story. 

He is the dearly loved husband and soulmate of Fiona, and immensely proud father of Bianca (deceased), Bradley, and Kaitlyn.

Our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Wellington Hospital, with a special thanks to Amy and Tom.

A celebration of Matt’s life will held at The Pines, 50 The Esplanade, Houghton Bay on Friday 17th February at 11am, followed by a private cremation. 

The service will be live-streamed via a link at the top of this page.
