Ewen Bruno TAYLOR (01.02.1937 – 19.11.2023)


Ewen Taylor, 86, of Waikanae, died at Wellington Hospital on 19th November 2023.

He can finally be at rest after a full and enjoyable life.

He was the only child of George and Helen Taylor (nee Dickson) and lived the most (and best) years of his life at 2 and 4 Fortification Road, Karaka Bay.
He loved the sea and his beautiful family home encompassed magnificent views of Wellington Harbour.
Boating, sailing and fishing (in the harbour, Cook Strait and beyond), home DIY, landscaping and gardening were just some of his passions. Ewen was a diligent public servant for most of his working life.

Ewen leaves behind his beloved Annette, cherished wife and soulmate for 63 years. He was father and father-in-law of Chris and Diahann, Mandy and her partner, Clyde Bennett. Grandfather of Josh and Rogan, Bryn and Zoe.

He was such a kind and loving man with a great sense of humour. His quick wit and laughter will be sorely missed by family and friends.

As per his wishes, Ewen has been cremated and there will be no service.
