MATTHEWS Barbara Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Patrick), Promoted to Glory at age 97, from her own bed at Fernhill on October 31st, 2024, as she wished.



Much loved mother of Paul, Leslie, Vaughan and Tina and beloved grandmother and great grandmother to many devoted grandchildren.



A lover of conversation, books, politics, controversy, history, travel, food, cats, sunshine - and her home, where people were always welcome.



Particular thanks to grandson Paris and his first cousin Maia, who lived with Jackie and looked after her for these past five years.



Messages to the Matthews family may be left here in Jackie's tribute book.

A service will be held at Old St Pauls, Mulgrave Street, Thorndon, Wellington on Thursday, November 14th at 1:00pm, followed by a natural burial at Makara Cemetery.
