NICHOLLS, Lorraine Esther 6/9/1942-29/12/2024

Loved and loving mother of David and Mathew. Wife of John (1963-1979). Grandmother of Maui and Georgia. Mother-in-law to Chingfen.

Studied at Teachers' Training College, Wellington, Victoria University and University of Illinois, USA.

Teacher at Kelburn Normal School and others. Lecturer in reading and co-supervised student placement in schools at Wellington College of Education (Teachers' Training College) and finally tutored at her own business the Literary Specialists in Kilbirnie.

Born, and lived in Wellington most of her life with a few years in American Mid-West with John and children.

Loved beautiful houses, her friends, her students, the optimism of the 70's, Wellington, the sea, film, RNZ, her cats, novels, antique furniture and restaurants, in later years especially loved the tangy chicken curry at the Mekong Cafe in Wellington.

In accordance with the family wishes a private cremation has been held.
