Bale, Karl Stewart

Date of birth 6 June 1947.

Passed away at 7 pm on 8 May 2025.

Karl had a long battle with cancer and defied the odds right up to the end.

He lived life to the full even when the going wasn’t easy. He loved many things including cooking, traveling, his family, his friends, theoretical physics, the news, walking on the beach, gardening, watches and the odd heated discussion about many subjects.

Beloved husband of the late Jude, father of Steven and Michael, Grandfather of Tomas, Sepp, Hannah, Bonnie and Kate. Loving brother to Maria.

Great friend and close companion of Margaret. Best mates with Walter. Keen member of the Wellington Club.

Friend of the Bolton Street cemetery and the botanical gardens.

So many close friends but very special thanks to Elizabeth for amazing and selfless support especially at the end and to Brent for a suitable viking send-off complete with longship, fireworks and fire brigade callouts. Sael!

A service is to be held at St James Church Lower Hutt on Friday the 16th of May 2025 at 11:00am.
