SCOTT Thomas John

September 2, 1942 - February 4, 2026

Born in Venice Street, Martinborough and educated at Wairarapa College, Tom's 40-year career as a broadcaster and journalist saw him and Wendy, his beloved wife of over 60 years, call Tauranga, Whangarei, Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington home - sometimes more than once. He returned to Martinborough with Wendy and his family from 1978 to 1987 and again to the Wairarapa in 2023 following over 20 years in Pukehina, "jewel of the Bay of Plenty."

In addition to Wendy, Tom is survived by his daughter Joanna Scott and her partner David Bosch, daughter Jennifer Scott, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was a cherished friend to many including 50 greedy sparrows, a loud tui, a bossy blackbird, and several nosy piwakawakas from his Masterton garden.

He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.
