On July 23, 2008 after a courageous battle; in his 79th year.

Dearly loved husband of Cath, loved Dad and father-in-law of Alan and Sue, and the late Elaine (Nelson), Ron and June (Brisbane), Trevor and Barbara, and the late Maureen (Cromwell), Lynley and the late Alex Stacey (Nelson), Bryan and Cathy (Sawyers Bay), Geoffrey and Elena (Brisbane), Bruce and Maureen (Dunedin), Graham and Wendy (Sawyers Bay), Colin and Leigh (Te Puke). Loved Grandad and Great Grandad of all his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

At George's request a private service was held on Monday July 28, 2008.
