On 7th July 2005 peacefully surrounded by family at Roseneath Lifecare, Carterton. Aged 70 years.
Much loved father and father-in-law of Hineariki and Bodie, Adrian and Cherie, Moana and Swanney, and Yvonne. Loved Grandad of Tenielle; Shannon, Leon, Joshua, Daniel; Troy, and Thomas. Much loved dear friend of Carey.
Loved son of the late Te-Pirihi Walter and Taraipine Gillies. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Carl (deceased), and Moko, Miri and Tui (deceased), Diane and John, Jim (Brisbane), Koro and Sandra, Nga, Pep and Russell and love uncle and grand uncle of all his nieces and nephews.
Alec is lying at the Papawai Marae where his funeral service will be held on Saturday 9th July 2005 at 11.00 a.m. followed by burial at the Papawai Urupa. Tributes can be left on Alec’s tribute page at www.tributes.co.nz
